Why We Made Planesmooth

Why We Made Planesmooth

We’ve always believed that good skincare shouldn’t have to be complicated—or expensive.

That’s one of the reasons we became interested in dermaplaning in the first place.

If you’ve never tried it, dermaplaning is actually pretty simple. It gently removes the fine peach fuzz and dead surface skin that can build up on your face. The result is skin that feels smoother, looks fresher, and gives you a cleaner canvas for everything else you put on it.

And the difference is something you can feel almost immediately.

Your skin feels incredibly smooth. Makeup can go on more evenly. Foundation doesn’t have to sit on top of fine facial hair. And your regular skincare routine just feels a little better when you’re starting with a freshly exfoliated surface.

That’s what got us excited about it.

A Simple Step That Makes a Big Difference

There are a lot of things you can do for your skin. Some involve complicated routines, expensive treatments, or products with ingredient lists that require a chemistry degree to understand.

Dermaplaning isn’t like that.

It’s simply about removing some of what’s sitting on the surface of your skin.

For many people, that means getting rid of the soft peach fuzz that becomes especially noticeable in certain light or underneath makeup. At the same time, dermaplaning helps remove dead surface skin that can leave your complexion looking a little dull or uneven.

Once it’s gone, your skin can look brighter and feel noticeably smoother.

It’s one of those beauty steps where you don’t need to wonder whether anything happened. You can see it. You can feel it.

We love that.

So Why Does It Have to Cost So Much?

That was the question that eventually led us to create Planesmooth.

There are some very good at-home dermaplaning devices already available. But when we started looking at the category, we kept coming back to the same thought:

Why does a good dermaplaning device need to cost $100, $150, or even $200?

We wanted the benefits of a rechargeable beauty device without turning it into a major investment.

We weren’t interested in making something cheap just for the sake of being cheap. We wanted a device that looked good, felt good in your hand, was easy to use, and did the job well.

We just didn't think you should have to pay a premium price to get it.

That became the idea behind Planesmooth.

Good Skincare Should Be More Accessible

One of the things we’ve learned from spending years around skincare and beauty is that price and performance don't always move together.

Sometimes you’re paying for the product.

Sometimes you’re paying for a lot of things around the product.

With Planesmooth, we wanted to keep things straightforward.

A rechargeable handheld device. Fresh blades. Easy maintenance. Simple enough to become part of your regular routine.

No appointment.

No complicated process.

And no luxury-device price tag.

We want Planesmooth to be something you can use regularly without feeling like you’ve made a huge investment in another beauty gadget.

Because great skincare shouldn't be reserved for people willing to spend hundreds of dollars.

The Best Part Is Seeing the Result

There’s also something strangely satisfying about dermaplaning.

The first time you use Planesmooth, look closely at the blade afterward.

You may be surprised by how much peach fuzz and surface buildup was there.

Then feel your skin.

That immediate smoothness is what made us believers in dermaplaning in the first place.

And it’s why we wanted to make it easier for more people to experience it.

Planesmooth started with a very simple idea:

Make a good dermaplaning device. Make it easy to use. And make it available at a price almost anyone can afford.

We think skincare works best when it feels less intimidating, more accessible, and maybe even a little fun.

We’re excited for you to try Planesmooth.

And we're pretty sure you'll want to touch your face afterward.
